How It Works
Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO)
Various health practitioners have been using DMSO to effectively help with headaches, rheumatoid arthritis, joint & muscle pain and scarring.
DMSO is an organosulfur compound used as a topical pain reliever and anti-inflammatory agent. It penetrates deep into the tissues, through the skin, and alters the inflammatory response. It is also a “carrier” and helps to bring whatever it comes into contact with, deeper into the skin and tissues.
Castor Oil (Ricinus Communis)
Castor Oil is famous for it’s ability to: help acne-prone skin, to make hair and nails softer and shinier, moisturize even the roughest and toughest skin and be used to blend with other products, such as essential oils for work with massage. It is so special because Castor is naturally rich in a special Omega-9 fatty acid known as ricinoleic acid. Castor’s properties boost all of the benefits that DMSO boasts, and more. Castor also helps move stagnation, boost circulation and act as a safe dilution medium. Combining DMSO and Castor — the ideal pairing — alleviating one of the most common side-effects of regular DMSO, which is dry skin.
Best Practice For Use
Important: Skin must be thoroughly clean and dry before application. DMSO enhances absorption, including any potential contaminants. Apply with caution and care. Avoid sensitive membrane areas, such as the eyes.
Always ensure that your containers and instruments are extremely clean. Ensure that there are no residues, including soaps and/or detergents.
We recommend an 80/20 or 70/30 ratio to start. You can mix both together by counting the amount of drops, or by using a measuring cup to a specific volume of liquid.
Using the 70/30 ratio as an example:
- Take a separate container, glass or bottle for mixing both the DMSO and Castor.
- Add your Castor Oil (70% of the volume).
- Add your DMSO (30% of the volume).
- Mix carefully, and gently. A spoon works well.
- Apply the desired amount of your blended solution to the area you are seeking to work with. Massage into the skin until it is not “running” or dripping.
*You want your skin to absorb the oils. Be careful not to stain clothing or any nearby fabrics.
